This policy sets out Pixel Group Australia’s commitment to managing the environmental effects of how we work. It applies to all staff, contractors and freelancers working on Pixel projects, and to the sister brands we operate: Corporate Mojo, Barry the Brain, Video Testimonials, Event Content and Authority, and Yesterdays Photo.
It covers our office and studio, location shoots and events, the equipment we buy and dispose of, the websites, files and digital services we run, the suppliers we choose and the materials we produce for clients.
We will:
As a creative and production business, our main environmental aspects are:
| Area | Impact | How we manage it |
|---|---|---|
| Studio and office | Electricity for edit suites, rendering, lighting and cooling | Energy-efficient equipment, LED lighting, shut-down routines, renewable electricity when the tariff allows |
| Travel | Fuel for shoots, site visits and client meetings | Combined trips, video calls first, car-pooling crew, lower-emission vehicles when replaced |
| Equipment | Manufacturing impact and e-waste from cameras, computers, drives and batteries | Repair and upgrade before replacing, buy refurbished where suitable, certified e-waste recycling |
| Production | Single-use items, sets, props, catering and printed material on shoots and events | Reusable kit, hired or second-hand props, no single-use plastic bottles on set, recycled or FSC paper |
| Digital | Hosting, cloud storage, file transfer and website page weight | Lean websites, compressed media, archive clean-ups, hosting with renewable energy commitments |
| Artificial intelligence | Data centre energy and water used by AI tools for writing, research, image, audio and video generation | Use AI where it adds real value, choose the smallest tool that does the job, avoid repeated or speculative generation runs, prefer providers that publish sustainability commitments |
| Suppliers | Impact of the goods and services we buy | Ask about environmental practices when choosing printers, hosts, caterers and hire companies |
These objectives run from 1 November 2026 to 30 October 2027 and are reviewed at the annual policy review.
| Objective | Measure | By |
|---|---|---|
| Set a baseline for electricity, travel and waste | 12 months of power bills, kilometres travelled and bins used, recorded quarterly | Jan 2027 |

| Lighter Pixel websites | Pixel and sister brand home pages under an agreed page weight, checked each quarter | Jun 2027 |
| Cleaner energy | Studio electricity moved to a GreenPower or renewable plan, or the reason it is not yet viable recorded | Jun 2027 |
We comply with the legislation that applies to our activities, including:
We use ISO 14001 as a reference framework for planning, checking and improving, without claiming certification.
New team members receive this policy at induction, and freelancers receive it with their brief.
We record our baseline measures each quarter and report progress against the objectives at the annual review. The policy is reviewed every twelve months, or sooner if our operations, premises or the law change. The current version is available to staff, clients and suppliers on request.
